I almost missed Lion King.
The tube has been messed up the past few days, particularly the stop by our hotel. I had to wait fifteen minutes for a train to come and then at the last minute before I got on they switched it to go the other direction and I got lost. I finally got back on the right train, headed the right direction, found the theater and ran in forty minutes late. I made it just in time for Mufasa to scold Simba after running into the wastelands. And I got to sit right up front by the stage since that was easier until intermission. (Score!) I am so glad that I didn't listen to the lady that told me they wouldn't let me in late! Best of all about the tube mess, we were all meeting there so I was by myself in a sketchy part of town when that train went to wrong way. Let's just say I got back on it ASAP!
By the way, Lion King was AMAZING!!!!!
Headed to Paris at 7 am tomorrow!

We're not in Texas anymore y'all
My knife is gone. The end.
No, just kidding, but I am really unhappy about it.
1. Apparently it's illegal to carry pocketknives in the country of England (mace is also illegal, apparently defending yourself is frowned upon, no wonder they have a pickpocket problem.)
2. Being honest gets you no where. (Sorry Mom and Dad.) My roommate and I went to the London Eye and they "search your bags" aka look inside them. The man asked me if I had anything sharp in my bag and, following the Aggie honor code, I said yes actually I have a pocketknife. He said "That's illegal in this country and Ill have to confiscate it. You won't be getting it back." I told him I was from Texas where people carry guns in the purses. (Notice we don't have a pickpocket problem.) He proceeded to confiscate my knife while taking down my name and address (should made that up but again I'm an honest person) and made it clear that I would not be getting my knife back and it would now become property of the police (who will probably sell it for 50 Pounds). At least I didn't get arrested. Apparently that's what they used to do instead of confiscating the item. #Texasgirlproblems
3. Buses are unreliable. Period. The concierge at our hotel told us that we could take bus number 9 to the London Eye which we were really interested in because we had seen enough of the tube (subway system) and wanted to be able to see London on our way across town. Well, jokes on us, halfway there our bus robot lady said "route change. This bus is now terminated. Please exit at the next stop." So after we get off the bus we look at our map and the London Eye doesn't look too far so we decide to enjoy the walk and sightsee on the way. Welllllll it was actually about 4 or 5 miles of walking before we got to the London Eye. We obviously took a different route back (via the tube) but as I'm laying in bed typing this my tootsies are KILLING me. Time for a soak in a hot bath. #somuchpain #notlookingforwardtotomorrow

Arrived
IM HERE!!!! As soon as the plane hit the runway my heart started pounding. All that's left between me and starting this trip is a line at immigration and baggage claim. The Aggies have infiltrated Europe. Whoop!!
Woah plane
This plane is amazing! Maybe you can tell I'm from the country but I have never seen a plane so huge! And first class? Woah! That's the way to go! (if you can afford it) SOOO nice oh my gosh. Straight up beds up there. Back here where us poor folks sit is pretty nice too thought. Pillow, blanket, personal tv, pretty good stuff. T-minus nine hours! C'mon Dramamine, do me good!
Ciao!

Always measure your bags
Well here we are two hours before I leave for the airport I measure my carry on and figure out that it's too big. Wonderful. After a frantic search for a little bit smaller duffel bag and fitting everything in there I relaxed a little but the moral of the story is always measure to make sure. I would have hated to get to the airport and realize my carry on was too big. What's a trip without a little pre-flight stress?
Bon Voyage!
Well friends I am about to embark on the trip of a lifetime. One month in Europe! What an opportunity! The Lord has blessed me so much with this opportunity and in providing the emotional and financial support to me n the planning and organizing of this trip. I was in love with this trip as soon as Dr. Mac gave my marketing class the presentation. I can't believe the time is finally here!
I have to thank my wonderful husband for being so supportive in this. My education means so much to me and his support mean the world! Honey, I couldn't do this without you. I know how hard it was for you to give up a month of the summer we spend together but I promise you it is noticed and appreciated. You are wonderful! Can't wait until June 18th!
Mom and Dad, thank you so much for everything you do. Thank you for supporting me in this and helping Anthony and I with the money up front. Y'all do so much for me and I really do appreciate every bit of what you do. I love y'all so much! Thank you for everything and I can't wait to see you soon!
To everyone who supported me and loved me through this. THANK YOU! The Lord was so wonderful in providing so much financial support for this trip and all your love was received. It means so much to me to have such wonderful friends that support me in all I do.
As I finish packing the last few things and get ready to head to the airport this afternoon I ask that you pray for this trip, for those going and for those leading, and please pray for me! My hope is that through this trip, even though it isn't a "mission trip", I would show Jesus to those around me. Every day is an opportunity to do that and my prayer is that I would resist the devil's ploy to use this trip to distract me from that. I don't want to ever forget that my savior is the reason I am here and the reason I get to do wonderful things like this. I pray that I honor the Lord throughout this trip. Thank you for all the support and I'll be updating everyone from across the pond!
Ciao!
